Outfit Post // A little bit Lovestruck

Hi everyone! Although the horrid rainy weather has been a bit hit and miss recently, there was a small break in the downpours, during which I managed to get some shots of my amazing new dress, which was very kindly sent to me by the lovelies over at Lovestruck Clothing

Dress //  Lovestruck Clothing*     Earrings // New Look (similar here)     Bag // Primark
Pointed Flats // New Look (similar here)

Lovestruck offer vintage style clothing with a girly twist, and they have some absolutely beautiful items on their website! The tie-waist skater dress I chose is just so vintagey, (if that's even a word)  chic, and just beautiful, the little pearl button detailing and cut out middle make it quirky and give it such a cute unique twist. It is also perfectly fitting, I sometimes struggle to find dresses that flatter my extra-wide hips, but this one seems to fit and shape in all the right places. Plus, the colour is just gorgeous! While it has a bit of a olive green tone to it, it's also kind of blue, and is a colour I will definitely be wearing more of and searching out in the shops! This dress is also available in a range of different (and equally as lovely) colours, my favourite out of the others being this yellow shade - which meant making my choice of dress a very hard decision!

To finish off the outfit, I added a cute pair of vintage-style earrings that I bought from New Look ages and ages ago, but keep in my collection 'just in case'. While I have to say that vintage/retro isn't a style I regularly go for, this dress and look has definitely got me thinking that I might change my style up a bit more often. Also, I nabbed this lovely little Primark bag from my mum, and have now claimed it as my own. I know Primark also sell this one in some lovely pastel shades, but the black just seems to go with so much that I don't think there's much need to buy another just for the sake of it. To finish I added my trusty black pointed flats, as they really do go with anything!

Thanks to the freezing wind I had to add a pair of (unwanted) tights to the outfit too... But hey, I don't think they spoil the look too much.

Have you checked out Lovestruck clothing...? How would you wear one of their vintage style items...?x

Outfit Post // Safari Chic

I'm on a blogging roll at the moment, what with the longer days and the endless sun I'm just loving thinking of summer looks to wear and pulling the once-a-year crop tops back out of my wardrobe again! But even with all the crop tops in the world, on a relaxed summer day, you really can't beat a jumpsuit. They are super comfy, and yet always seem to look good- so when I saw this amazingly cute Elephant print baby in New Look- I just had have it!

Sunglasses//Primark     Earrings//Black Tied     Jumpsuit//New Look     Belt//Old     Bag//Accessorize     Sandals//Primark

I've never come across a print as cute as this, and the added bonus of this jumpsuit is that with it's elasticated waistband and button up top, it's ridiculously comfy. It's a slouchy fit and lovely light material, which makes it perfect for long days travelling in the heat, so that's my holiday airport outfit sorted! It did come with a little black studded belt, but I think I prefer a brown belt with it- plus it goes better with my bag and sandals.

The round frame sunnies could only really be from one place... Yep, you guessed it, Primark! They are a little bit too big and keep slipping down my nose when I wear them, but they make a nice on-top-of-the-head accessory anyway! Note to self- stop buying things without checking whether or not they fit. I also added these lovely earrings from Black Tied, an independent jewellery store, who sell some absolutely gorgeous unique pieces. The Turquoise Drop earrings I'm wearing are absolutely beautiful- they add a touch of boho babe to any outfit, and I'll certainly be getting plenty of wear out of them on my upcoming hols.

My cute little sandal shoes are also Primark finds. I believe they come in black as well as brown, and they a super little summer essential- a lightweight sandal that can be dressed up or down, and worn just about anywhere!

All I feel this outfit needs now is a nice big floppy hat, a purchase I am yet to make, but will be coming very soon!

Are you loving jumpsuits this summer....? How would you style this super cute print...?x

OUTFIT POST // MONOPRINT

Hi everyone! Today has been an exciting day, because I've started packing for my holiday! Apart from sun cream and a couple of other bits (Triangl bikini I'm looking at you) I have just about everything I need, which means I'm now officially in the Holiday mood. This has meant plenty of planning outfits, and I just HAD to include this amazing playsuit, that's from the Lauren Pope Collection by In the Style

Playsuit//InThestyle     Necklace//New Look     Clutch//Primark     Shoes//Primark

Please excuse my VERY pasty arms and legs- they are in desperate need of a tan, but that aside, how gorgeous is this playsuit?! I honestly can't tell you how flattering it is, it's got 2 layers, making it look almost like the every popular co-ord when it;s on, and the baggy fit top is slimming but yet still manages to hide my food-baby belly- a miracle if you ask me! The print makes such a statement, and monochrome is something I'll never get bored of, it's classic and so easy to carry off, whether you're going for a casual or smart look. I'm so upset to say that this playsuit is no longer being sold on In the Style, but if you head over to their website here you'll be able to see the latest Lauren Pope collection, with some equally gorgeous pieces (I'm especially loving this stunning midi-skirt).

You probably can't actually see, but if you look really closely you might spot the monochrome statement necklace that I added to this outfit, which blends in to the print, and actually looks quite cool in person- the photos definitely don't do it justice. Rather than clashing any colours, I kept the monochrome theme throughout by wearing my gorgeous Primark heels, and Primark clutch bag, two of my wardrobe staples.

And of course, what monochrome look would be complete without a red lip... not this one anyway!

How are you rocking monochrome this season? Have you checked out the 'By Lauren Pope' In the Style collection yet...?x

Outfit Post // Sorbet Statement

This last week has definitely been a weird one when it comes to the weather, one minute the sun was out, then the next it was absolutely wanging it down, why can't it just make it's mind up?! Typical Britain I guess. Anyway, in a spare moment when the sun was out, I made the most of it by glamming up, and showing off my amazing new necklace that I recently won from online jewellery store Johnny Loves Rosie, that I really couldn't wait to show you all!

I was so so excited when I found out I'd won their giveaway, as I literally NEVER win anything. (to put it this way, I once went to the races, and put a pound each on 9 out of 11 horses in a race, and I still didn't manage to win a penny- bad luck seems to follow me around!) I had to choose three items I loved from their website, and then the lovely Verity who works for JLR picked one to send me. I was so glad she picked this one, as I'd already decided exactly how I'd wear it!

Necklace // Johnny Loves Rosie     Cami, Jeans and Strappy Heels // All Primark

I really wanted to let the statement necklace do the talking, so I teamed it with much lighter sorbet shades to complement but not overshadow it's coral/orange tone. The whole rest of the outfit is from Primark, with the floaty lemon-yellow cami top being a major find! I couldn't believe how similar it was to the much more expensive Topshop camis, and to be honest it's probably just as good quality. It has been a spring essential for me, and will definitely continue to be throughout summer!

I'm definitely not ashamed to admit that the white jeans were once my mum's- being the same size dress size does have it's advantages.  I've now well and truly adopted them into my own wardrobe, and although they aren't amazingly fitted (Topshop Jonis I will own you one day) they are just fine for casual summer wear, and definitely won't be hiding away in my wardrobe!

Finally I added an old pair of Primark sandals that I bought but never wore, and forgot I had! I always love finding old items hiding at the back of my drawers, and these couldn't have been more perfect to go with my brand new necklace, it was fate if you ask me!

Outfit Post // Slogan Slouchy

Where has all the lovely weather gone?! The sun came and went far too quickly, and I didn't even get chance to take any outfit photos while the weather was nice! :( So I guess I'll just have to make do with these rather windswept ones for now, and judging by the weather forecast I may well need to get used to my hair blowing left right and centre for the next few weeks, get me on my summer holidays haha!

Jacket // Miss Selfridge     Slogan tee // River Island     Jeans // Primark     Pumps // Next     Clutch Bag // Primark

Today's outfit is quick and casual, something that's perfect for throwing on when you're having a rushed kind of day. I featured this River Island slogan tee in one of my wishlist posts a few months ago (which you can read here). My amazing boyfriend, who's one of my blogs biggest fans bless him, read the post and bought me the t-shirt for my birthday! I really love it, it's a baggy fit, and is so comfy, which is a great excuse to eat donuts when I'm wearing it, right?  Plus, I'm obsessed with all the different slogan tees around at the moment, there's so many super cool ones that you can wear in so many different ways. They are a definite wardrobe staple, and plus, when you've got your wear out of them, they are perfect for adding to the pyjama drawer!

It goes perfectly with these Primark acid-wash jeggings that I bought a good few years ago, and somehow still (just about) fit into. I also chucked on these converse style pumps that I bought from next- again I've owned these longer than I should probably admit to! To smarten the whole look up I wore my leather jacket and black clutch bag, but to be completely honest I can't see a leather ruck-sack like this Topshop lovely looking out of place at all, casual all the way!!

Are you loving slogan tees? What is your go-to casual look?...x

Outfit Post // Denim Days

This weekend me and my boyfriend had quite a bit of time spare, so I decided to make the most of it and get him to re-invent himself as a joiner-turned-photographer to take some outfit pictures for me,  and to be honest, I'm really impressed with how they turned out. He was directing me left right and centre haha! As the sun was (sort of) shining, I decided to get my pasty legs out, and I opted for an outfit that is quite smart-casual, and could easily be dressed up or down and taken from day to night, depending on how you accessorize it.
Leather Jacket // Miss Selfridge (similar here)     Denim Shift Dress // Primark     Clutch // Primark     Sandals // Boohoo

I bought this Denim/Pleather shift dress from Primark last year, I think it cost about £12, and while it's not the best fitting dress ever, (thanks to the sleeves seemingly being made for somebody with extremely wide arms) if I add a leather jacket on top then it loses the 'masculine shoulders' touch and looks a lot more feminine. The shift style is one of my favourites, and is perfect to wear for a long day out because it's so comfy and flattering for when I've had a bigger-than-usual lunch.  I also love this dress because of the retro 90's feel, the bright blue shade takes me back to my younger dungaree-wearing days, and it's also a slightly faded denim which is a nice touch, and also helps to enhance the shape of what might otherwise be a pretty shapeless dress,

I decided to keep things completely minimal with no jewellery and just this black clutch bag- another Primark bargain I bought last year. I also want to take a quick moment to apologise for the state of my nail polish in the clutch bag picture- I just completely forgot to paint them! Finally I wanted to show off some gorgeous sandals I got from work (the same pair are available from Boohoo here). They are a lot chunkier than any other sandals I own, but I absolutely love the buckled gladiator straps, and the block heel and slight platform means that while they add a bit of height, they are so comfy to wear! I can't wait to use them to death this summer!

I hope you've enjoyed my new style of photos for today's outfit, now the weather is a bit nicer I'm determined to try and get more like this rather than the usual rubbish quality indoor ones I take using my tripod!

So how are you wearing denim this season? Have you got a pair of chunky sandals you love...?x

Part 3 // 3 Ways to Wear: Boxy Crop Tee

Here's the last instalment in my '3 ways to wear' blog post series.. In this outfit the Primark tee does all the talking as I've chosen not to layer over it with anything else. So here it is!

Look 3: Dressed Down Day Out
I'm a HUGE fan of the whole 'Parisian chic' trend, and I think mixing a staple white piece like this t-shirt with some red accessories always adds a bit of French style to what would otherwise be a plain outfit, and that's exactly the look I went for!

I kept things so simple and easy with this outfit, I literally just chucked on my favourite pair of blue jegging jeans from Matalan (a similar pair is available to buy here). These jeans aren't actually supposed to be high-waisted like they might look in the pictures, however I've lost quite a bit of weight since I bought them so they don't stay on unless I pull them up really high- sad I know, but they're so comfy I just can't stop wearing them!

I added my Red Topshop chain necklace on too, it's so cute, and looks perfect when you match it with some bright red lippy! I've been messing around with my hair much more recently, and to try and reduce the lions mane that is my barnet I've taken to wearing this 'topknot' style much more recently, and I think it works perfectly with the slightly casual vibes of this outfit.

I'm already planning to rock this look to go shopping, when I'm out for drinks or even just popping out for a coffee (or hot chocolate in my case!). It's my style down to a tee, (see what I did there..) and I'm so glad I saved it till last.!

I really hope you've enjoyed this 'Ways to Wear series', please let me know what you thought of it, and your opinions on my last look...x

Part 2 // 3 Ways to Wear: Boxy Crop Tee

I really hope you enjoyed part 1 of my 'Ways to Wear' series, and here's my part 2 post! Again the main feature of this outfit is my white boxy crop tee from Primark, but I've gone for a completely different look to the smart one I wore last time. Here goes...

Look 2: Festival Chic
Although I'm not heading to a festival next year, I'm still allowed to get excited for all the festival wear that's coming soon! I absolutely loved Leeds Fest when I went a couple of years ago, and I'm determined to get an elusive Glasto ticket next year, so why not start planning my outfits already- it's never too early, right? Haha well anyway, for this look, I may have borrowed my little sisters dress, but it's just so gorgeous that I couldn't help myself!

Please excuse my wilder than usual hair! I was having a 'just-washed and too frizzy to straighten or curl' kind of day, having thick hair is such a pain sometimes! Anyway,  on to the outfit.. This gorgeous slip-on dress is from Miss Selfridge, sadly they no longer sell this particular colour but they do have a very similar one which is just as lovely here. I love how the dress on top of the tee gives off perfect festival boho vibes, it's such a laid-back but pretty combination! Obviously the weather would have to be nice to wear this outfit, which isn't always guaranteed at UK festivals, but what's the harm in dressing for Coachella even though you're only at Leeds fest?

I added my Gold Hoop earrings in this outfit just because they don't take away any of the prettiness from the outfit, and as with my last look, I think they add a bit of 'edge'. I think some statement stacked rings would also be perfect for this look, but as I haven't quite built up my collection enough yet I didn't include them in my photos.

Finally I added my favourite pair of cut-out boots that I bought in the Daisy Street sale just after Christmas. They aren't too chunky and have a slightly pointed toe which makes them more feminine than the other coltrane dupes on the market, and I absolutely love them! They are comfy and would be perfect for festivals, although a pair of wellies would also look bang on with this outfit, and would probably be more suitable for festival wear!

I'm super excited to post my last  look very soon, but I'd love to know what you think of my second look! How would you style the boxy crop tee for festivals...?..x

Part 1 // 3 Ways to Wear: Boxy Crop Tee

I'm forever on the hunt for staple pieces! Being on a budget means that I can't always afford to splash out on expensive clothes that I won't wear a lot, so while I do treat myself sometimes (after all I do deserve it haha), the main part of my wardrobe is made up of plain tops and jeans that last me for so much longer just because I can find so many more ways to wear them. I particularly love classic jersey style items that are plain and simple, and this white boxy crop tee from Primark is the perfect example, chic, minimal and just so easy to wear- I love it so much I bought it in two colours! So I thought I'd try out a brand new idea for my blog, and do a series in how to wear this tee in three completely different ways...

Boxy Crop Tee // Primark
Look Number 1: Smart Style
So here's my first look! In my opinion the white tee is the ultimate in simple chic style, and with monochrome being a huge hit trend both this season and last, adding a smart black jumpsuit like this Missguided one is a sure fire way to look smart and stylish with zero effort. Unfortunately Missguided no longer do this jumpsuit (I did buy it over a year ago), but Daisy Street have literally just started stocking the exact same one here so if you love it as much I do you're in luck!

I kept the accessories minimal, and just wore my trusty Gold Hoops. I always worry about looking 'chavvy' when I wear them, but I do think they add a bit of edge to some outfits a la Rihanna style. Although I do think a more classic statement pair of earrings wouldn't go amiss with this outfit- it's just a shame all mine are broken haha!

Again I kept things simple in the shoe department- you really can't go wrong with a pair of black flats, although adding a  nude heel like this gorgeous loafer-style pair from Next would definitely smarten the look up more, and mixing in another colour to an all monochrome look is definitely a good idea if all black and white isn't your thing.

I could easily see myself wearing this outfit to a posh dinner out or even an interview, the white tee and black jumpsuit are the perfect mix of smart and casual!

I hope you've enjoyed the first look in this series! Please let me know what you think, and if there's a staple piece in yur wardrobe that you're loving at the moment!...x

Outfit Post // Spring Shades

So before the smog descended this week we did get a day (even if it was only the one) of fairly nice weather up in Huddersfield, and as that is a rarity, I decided to make a change and take some outfit photos outside in my garden! At the moment the flowers are all blooming for spring, so I thought what better way to compliment my Pastel inspired outfit than with a super pretty background...

Jacket // SheInside     Top // New Look (last season)     Jeans // New Look (similar here)     Bag // Accessorize

Necklace // Primark

I ordered this gorgeous coat from SheInside quite a while ago, and was so impressed as I managed to pay just over £20 for it! While I did have to wait quite a while for delivery, I couldn't complain because it was free. I felt like this coat was a good investment as it will definitely be perfect for taking me from spring to summer, on those colder days when I need a bit of a cover-up to stay warm. The mint green pastel shade is everywhere right now, and as I haven't been a huge fan of the popular Pink coat that a lot people have been wearing, this felt like the perfect way for me to take on the pastel trend!

I bought this lace collared shirt from New Look over a year ago now, and I've certainly had my wear out of it. It lasted me all last summer as well as being perfect for this season- the white lace and pleated pattern is perfect for adding a bit of femininity to any outfit, I can wear it with a pretty skirt or my leather jacket, it's just so versatile.

To toughen the outfit up a little bit and keep it up to date I wore these D.I.Y ripped jeans. I bought the original un-ripped pair from New Look a couple of years ago, and while I have to say I've never been very crafty or good at D.I.Y, after seeing a couple of other bloggers re-vitalise and rip their jeans themselves, I thought to myself, I've got to give that a go, how hard can it actually be?! Well I have to say it was harder than anticipated, and I didn't do a very good job, but oh well there was no harm in trying! Plus I will still get plenty of wear out of them,  because I wear all my jeans to absolute death!

For accessories I chose my trusty Accessorize bag, and a really pretty necklace I bought from Primark recently. For just £3 I couldn't say no, and the pastel coloured roses are lovely for a staple accessory that brings a touch of spring to plenty of outfit combos.

Are you loving pastel pieces for Spring? What items are you wearing to take on the trend...?x

Outfit Post // Retro Colour Pop

Hi everyone! Sorry it's been a while since my last post, works been manic recently so I've been making the most of my relaxation time as best I can, so here's a little post I've put together!
On my Twitter feed a couple of months ago I came across the new fashion brand Lily Lulu Fashion, and after scouring their lovely website with so many stylish pieces I quickly realised they would be a brand to watch out for, some of the bargains in their sale section were amazing!  After some more research I realised they were based very close to me in Manchester, just another reason (or excuse..) to buy a piece of clothing from them. After much deliberation I finally settled on this gorgeous turtle-neck shift dress in a monochrome print, as I knew it would be something I'd wear just about anywhere! Since then they've added some amazing New Arrivals, including these gorgeous satchel bags in Pastel colours that I'm seriously lusting over!
Dress // Lily Lulu

Necklace // Primark (old)     Lipstick // Maybelline ColourSensational - Fuchsia Flash

Shoes // New Look - Similar Here

As soon as I tried the dress on I felt like I'd been transported back to the 60s, it has such a glam retro feel, and I really love how it fits- the shift style means it doesn't cling when I'm having a 'food baby' kind of day. Because it's a monochrome print, something I don't always go for, I tried to think of a way to add a little pop of colour, and this Maybelline lipstick was the perfect way to do it. It's an almost Neon pink colour, and although I wasn't sure how much it would suit me, I actually love it!

To finish the outfit off I added this simple pair of pointed flats from New Look, they have a slight block heel which again feels a bit retro, plus they are so much comfier than heels! I also teamed this Gold Primark necklace to add a bit of bling.

I first wore this dress for a day out shopping in Leeds, but I have already decided what shoes I'd team it with for a night out. I'll definitely be shopping with Lily Lulu again, and I'm also super excited to be attending their Charity Press Night next week, so watch out for more to come!

Is there a brand you'e a bit obsessed with at the moment..?x

OUTFIT POST // IT'S ALL ABOUT THE BOY

After a lovely day of some (almost) retail therapy in Meadowhall, I couldn't wait to get my new purchases on and write this outfit post! I say almost because I arrived at my favourite shopping centre, only to realise that I don't get paid until this afternoon, so I wasn't quite able to have the splurge I was hoping for, but I guess that's not a bad thing!
After drooling over a super pretty skort in Miss Selfridge, and then a gorgeous suede tee in Zara, I was feeling major spending withdrawal by the time I got to Primark, but when I saw this gorgeous grey crop jumper reduced to just £5 I was so chuffed! At that price I really couldn't say no, so it went straight in my basket. It has a super pretty rolled top, and is almost (but not quite) a polo neck, this kind of style is perfect for me on those weird weather days where it's still a bit cold/windy but the sun is shining, and the slight cropped length means it will last me well into spring and summer.

Cropped Jumper, Boyfriend Jeans, Spike Necklace, Metallic Heels // All Primark

I have been on the look out for the perfect pair of boyfriend jeans for a while now. The thought of having massive rips in my jeans hasn't fully  won me over, and after looking online nothing really caught my eye, but this pair (again from Primark) were perfect as the ripped detail isn't too OTT, which means I'll find them so much easier to wear. They are a little low on the waist, but I absolutely LOVE the tone and ankle-grazer style of them, and I'll be wearing these a lot as I tend to wear all the jeans I own to death. At £13 they definitely didn't break the bank, thank god for Primark!
To finish my all Primark outfit I added this super cute spike necklace, which I've had for a few months now. I almost forgot I had it, but a sort through my jewellery box fixed that, and made me realise that 90% of my jewellery collection is from Primark! Overall this outfit cost me just over £20, and is perfect for casual daytime wear, definitely got my moneys worth!

Are you a Primark fan? What amazing bargains have you bought recently...?x
